Do I need a doctor's referral for physiotherapy treatment?
No. However we do recommend that you contact your private health insurance company as they may require a medical referral to authorise reimbursement of treatment charges
Can a physiotherapist manipulate?Yes. All Chartered Physiotherapists with the appropriate postgraduate training can manipulate.
How quickly will I be seen for my first appointment?
We are normally able to offer you an appointment within 24 hours - often on the same day.
How MUCH does a treatment session COST?
Each session at Bedford Physiotherapy costs £48. Home visits cost £68

How long does a treatment session last?
Sessions last 30 minutes
How many treatments will I need?
There is no pre-determined number of treatments for a specific condition, but following your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will discuss and agree a treatment plan with you.
They should be able to give you an approximate guide at this point.
What should I wear?Your physiotherapist will need to see the affected body part, for lower limbs bring shorts, for back problems you may be required to undress to your underwear
How do I know if a physiotherapist is fully qualified?At Bedford Physiotherapy Centre physiotherapists are not employed unless they have produced valid registration documents from the Health and Care Professions Council.
This registration is renewed every two years and the Physiotherapy manager has copies of the originals within the department. All physiotherapists at Bedford Physiotherapy Centre are members of the Health and Care Professions Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.
